John MacFarlane & Mary MacDonald.

 

Inscription reads; "John MacFarlane in memoriam to:Mary MacDonald 21 Jan 1851 age 27;Son John died 22 Jun 1850, age 6 weeks, Dau Mary died 18 Mar 1867, age 15 months; Above John MacFarlane died 8 Mar 1891, age 80."

 

Not quite sure how he managed to have a daughter die at 15 months in 1867 when his wife died in 1851. I am assuming that Mary MacDonald was his wife. Perhaps Mary was by his second wife and seeing as he already had a burial plot containing his first wife and a son, he decided to inter Mary there too.

 

John and Mary McDonald married at Arrochar Church, 27 May 1848 and besides John b.& d.1850 (as above) they had a daughter Christina b.28 Dec 1848 bapt.8 Jan 1849 Arrochar church who presumably survived her parents as she is not mentioned in the inscription
