Inscription reads: ""1886"  Erected in Memory of Parlane McFarlane who died May 1855 aged 81 years Also his wife Agnes Dove who died June 18, 1867 aged 86 years. Their son Parlane died March 1856 aged 44 aged years. Also their daughters Agnes died Feby 1862 aged 40 years, Catherine Carr died Jany 1886 aged 63 years."

Parlane (son of Parlane MacFarlane & Isobel MacFarlane) bapt.27 Nov 1771 Luss Church d.May 1855 m. Agnes McCalman (or Dove) (dau. of Dugald McCalman & Jane MacAuslen) b.24 May 1781  Muckairn, Argyll.

[ The name Dove is usually of Scottish Gaelic origin where families of the name were a branch of the clan Buchanan. This name has a number of variants including McCalman and Dow.
