On Wednesday 14th July 1954 at 3pm in the Tarbet hotel there was held an auction for various pieces of land and property in Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui along both Loch Long and Loch Lomond. The land was offered for sale by Luss Estates and was billed as 'Extensive Sporting And Agricultural  Estate' amidst the unrivalled scenery of Historic Clan Country Immortalised in Song and Legend extending approximately 14,400 acres. The properties sold at this auction comprised some 40 lots and included various pieces of land and dwelling properties.
